Managed IT Services Audit

Know your IT needs better and check your IT environment for any existing issues.

The Need for Managed IT Services Audit

Before you handover your company’s network to a Managed IT Service Provider, like Syndrome, for maintaining your IT services, the first step in the onboarding process is an audit. An audit lets us check your network for any existing problems, helps us know your IT needs better and allows us to quote more accurately for our managed services.

Managed IT services audit is important as it gives an insight into your IT environment, what hardware and software you have or need. It also gives us a chance to collect your user count. By actively looking through your technology stack, we get an idea of the complexity of your environment.

Overview of the Managed IT Services Audit Process

Auditing existing hardware, software and user count

Hardware Audit
To begin with, we check if the existing hardware complies with the current industry standards. From a security perspective, we audit for physical firewalls and back-up devices. We aim to provide IT assistance and protect your security while doing so.

Software
When checking through the software, among other things, we want to ensure you are using the latest antivirus, anti-malware, anti-spam and a DNS filter. By knowing what you use, we will know what type of software you need and account for the antivirus, anti-malware, and anti-spam software you’ll use through them.

User Count
Conducting the audit also allows us to count how many users use the software and if the network is capable of handling these users.

Auditing your security

We check your network to see how vulnerable you are to attacks. The security assessment checks for active attacks and glaring misconfigurations or missing patches. We get a good understanding of any existing security risks.

On-site and remote audit

At Syndrome, we prefer on-site audits as this allows us to know you and your IT environment up close. Depending on the size of your company and the number of locations, the audit could take from a few hours to a few days. If any of your locations is far off, it is cost effective to conduct an audit of the IT environment remotely.
